Void-of-Course Moon

The moon spends a little over two days at a time in each of the 12 zodiac signs, as it travels through the zodiac wheel. It completes its rotation through all 12 signs in about 28 days, which is a full moon cycle.

As the moon moves through the zodiac, it frequently forms planetary aspects with the other major planets.

A void-of-course moon (or void moon) is the period of time before the moon moves into a new sign.  During this time, it doesn’t form any significant alignment with any of the other planets.

Not everyone believes or follows this, but it is said that spell work shouldn’t be done during this time, as the moon’s energy and influence are greatly reduced, or corrupted, and it is not a good idea to work any magick or start anything new or important, as it could not work at all, or go disastrously wrong!!

Sometimes the void moon only last a few hours, but can sometimes be a couple of days.

You can easily find the calendars online, which have date, start time and end time.

For example, where I am today (Saturday 13th March 2021), the void moon starts at 16:37 and ends at 23:43 the same day (lasting 7 hours and 6 minutes).

The next void moon won’t be until Tuesday 16th March and will start at 03:40, ending at 10:56 (lasting 7 hours and 16 minutes).
